Mahau Sound is a deliciously fresh Sauvignon Blanc from the beautiful and world-renowned region of Marlborough in New Zealand’s South Island. It’s made by straight-talking Misty Cove winery. Andrew Bailey set up the winery to showcase top quality New Zealand wines without any pretension. Their motto is “wine for good times” – to bring friends and family together to talk around the wine, not about it! Mahau Sound is named after the scenic spit of land on the very northern tip of the South Island that serves as an idyllic retreat (post is delivered by boat and there’s no power unless you have a generator!) and is perfect for a spot of fishing. No surprise, then, that this wine, with bright tropical fruit, is tops with seafood or on its own.
